Frequently asked questions
How long does a BX Audit take?
A BX Audit can take as little as 2 weeks for a quick expert walkthrough and up to 6 weeks for the most detailed insights based on additional user research. Most products benefit most from the shortest version.
What exactly does a BX Audit involve?
A BX Audit focuses on specific user flows (e.g., posting content, completing daily practices) and examines all relevant aspects related to user experience, user interface, notifications, and how the product retains value.
Can the BX Audit be customized to our specific industry or type of product?
The BX Audit is based on principles of habit-forming psychology and is designed to be applicable across the digital product space. The human brain and the process of learning new habits are consistent across industries and products.
Can you provide examples of changes you’ve recommended in past audits and the outcomes?
Some examples include: 1. Push Notifications: Introducing new categories of notifications, and updates to messaging and timing. 2. UI Updates: Rearranging interfaces, updating mobile menus, introducing new UI elements to address user uncertainty. 3. Flow Updates: Rearranging flows, removing steps, introducing new steps. 4. UX Updates: Improving system feedback on user actions, updating onboarding processes.
How do we measure the impact of changes implemented after the BX Audit?
During the diagnosis call, we define which KPIs you need to improve and by what margin. All recommendations come with suggested KPIs to observe the impact. Actual measurement is contingent on analytics setup.
How do you ensure the recommendations are feasible for our team to implement?
It is crucial for us that you implement recommendations and observe their impact in analytics. With every BX Audit, you can request an additional 10 hours of BX support to oversee the proper implementation of key recommendations. If recommendations are implemented within 30 days of BX Audit delivery, we will refund your consulting fee.
What is the cost of a BX Audit?
We offer three different pricing levels for BX Audits—Starter, Advanced, and Expert—that vary in scope. Actual pricing is proposed after the initial diagnosis call.
What kind of data do you need access to for conducting the audit?
Access to analytics is beneficial. If you do not have analytics, we will ask you to install UXCam or another session recording tool to enable us to observe user behavior. Fundamental analytics are critical for understanding user behavior and measuring the impact of improvements. If you lack analytics, please reach out for support with implementation.
What makes your BX Audit approach different from other UX audits?
Unlike a UX Audit, which focuses on improving the overall user experience of the entire product, a BX Audit is more focused on increasing the frequency of users completing specific behaviors. It targets and prioritizes user psychology challenges that are critical to unlocking user engagement and retention.
What support do you provide during and after the audit?
During: We require your support to access necessary data and insights. After: You can request a package of 10 hours of BX design support to ensure recommendations are implemented correctly. Additionally, the BX Audit facilitates ongoing Engagement Design, a plug-and-play service focused on continuous improvement in user engagement, retention, and viral growth.
